Question and Answer time!

I get questions about my photography alot so I thought I would do a question and answer post. I'll try to do these every so often, so if you have any questions for me, visit http://www.tamaratignerphotography.net/ and email me from the contact page with your questions!

What camera do you use?
Currently I am using a Canon 30D with various lenses. Hoping to upgrade to a 5D soon.

How long have you been doing photography?
I've been taking pictures since I was old enough to hold a camera. Seriously, I always begged my mother to buy me cameras, film, and photo albums for xmas and birthdays. I've always loved, loved everything about photography. I could sit and look at pictures all day long. I didnt start learning more about my craft more seriously though until 2005, and didnt go into business until 2007.

Did you go to school to learn photography?
No I havent. I am self taught, with the help of wonderful photography online forums and talking with other professional photographers. I did take one online photography course a few months ago.

I see studio pictures on your website but you say your only natural light. Why is that?
Thats because I do offer studio shots for newborns and young babies that are unable to go outside. I also offer studio shots during the winter months when its too cold. During the rest of the year, natural light outdoor sessions is what I do and love the most.

Do you ever mentor?
Between work and being home with my family and 4 children, I am very busy. Currently I do not mentor, but I am always open to answering questions anyone has about photography. Just drop me an email!

I dont see older people on your site. Do you only do children?
Yes. At the present time, I only do newborn, babies and children up to the age of 7. Older children are taken on a case by case situation. In the near future I will be opening up to families and high school seniors, so keep watch!

Do you have a studio?

Yes. My home is my studio. Its not much, but hey it works! Since I do outdoor portraits mostly, then all my studio shots are done whereever I find room that day. hahaha I've been known to set up in my office, livingroom, and even the garage! See my fancy studio!! Take a peek at the above pic. Check out my assitant too. hehe
